About Dr. Brian Kanatzar
Dr. Brian Kanatzar is board certified by The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He received his Bachelor of Science and graduated Cum Laude from Rockhurst University in 2003. Dr. Kanatzar received his degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008 from Kansas City University and Biosciences. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency in Bay Area Hospital in Corpus Christi.
He specializes in functional medicine, osteopathic medicine, and medical weight loss. Dr. Kanatzar received extra training in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) so he has a better understanding of how an injury or illness in one part of the body can affect another. He provides a comprehensive medical and holistic approach to help patients manage their medical comorbidities (i.e. diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol). He also provides medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses.
He served as a Captain in the Air National Guard Medical Unit for 5 years. He has been practicing as an internal medicine physician for 14 years. He also has 12 years of experience as an emergency medicine physician.
He is a member of American Osteopathic Association, Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, American College of Osteopathic Internist and Society of Hospital Medicine.
In 2010, Dr. Kanatzar was awarded Chief Internal Medicine Resident. He was also selected as Commissioned Officer Training Academic All American in 1998 and 2000.
Dr. Brian Kanatzar has an active lifestyle and his hobbies include mountain biking, hiking, soccer and tennis.
